Tour Guide Training
Take the opportunity to become a tour guide for your favorite Redpath exhibits! Tour guides can give informal Sunday afternoon tours, serve as interpreters for visiting school groups, and help with special events. Trainings for each topic are held a few times per semester, with dates posted on the Home page. If you are comfortable giving tours in French, WE WANT YOU! English speakers are also always welcome to become guides as well.

Saturday, February 12, 2011: Darwin Day
Darwin Day is a recently instituted celebration intended to commemorate Darwin’s contribution to science and to promote science in general. The celebration of Darwin’s work and tributes to his life have been organized sporadically since his death on April 19, 1882, at age 73 but have gained in popularity in recent years.
The Redpath Museum often celebrates Darwin Day with a day of interactive activities for families and younger guests to explore. More information will be posted closer to the date.
February 17-27, 2011: Nuit Blanche (specific date TBA)
The Redpath Museum remains open all night. We turn off all the lights and our volunteers give special flashlight tours at midnight, 2 am, and 4 am. It is an incredible experience as thousands of visiters come through the museum to experience the architecture, the collection, and skilled tour guides.
April 22, 2011: Earth Day
Details will be forthcoming, but this event will include guided tours of our biodiversity exhibits.
